Consortium Drilling, as a founding member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on deep geothermal development, had an amazing experience at the House of Lords this month. The APPG remains steadfast in its commitment to establishing deep geothermal as a mainstream renewable energy source in the UK. Despite the cold, damp, and windy weather outside, the atmosphere inside was welcoming and filled with enthusiasm. Being surrounded by a diverse group of stakeholders with a shared goal of providing reliable, sustainable, and affordable clean energy.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the hosts at REA for orchestrating such a well-organised event. Engaging in stimulating conversations with Minsters, local MPs, DESNZ, academics, financiers, operators, service providers, technology providers, and many others was truly enriching. Meeting familiar faces and forging new relationships was valuable in order to work together to fulfil the APPG objectives.
We eagerly look forward to witnessing the exciting advancements in this clean energy sector that will significantly contribute to achieving the UK’s net-zero ambitions.
