The Rig Control Products Ltd (RCP) Traveling Block Monitor (TBM) is an electronic anti-collision system, designed as a floor and crown saver to enhance rig safety. Bespoke engineered for our auxiliary braking system, the TBM continually monitors the motion of the traveling block assembly, and, if necessary, slows or stops the drawworks to prevent collision.
With over 18 years of continuous improvement, the latest TBM version incorporates enhanced diagnostics and a user-friendly operator interface. It automatically oversees and controls the direction, speed, weight, and position of the traveling block, ensuring safe operational boundaries are maintained. Data from the TBM system is essential to our drill line safety. It enables us to track tonne miles accurately and initiate a slip and cut program, reinforcing both equipment longevity and safety on the rig.
The PVT system continuously monitors drilling mud levels, providing real-time data on fluid volume gains and losses. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity and safety of our drilling operations.
